I became quite swollen at the hospital and it progressed steadily for some time. My ankles were the size of my calves, my calves the size of my thighs and my thighs....we'll let's not even go there. To give you an idea on day 11 I have not lost a pound and considering that Carson weighed 8 lbs, that's alottta water weight my friends, almost 3 gallons I'm storing. My 9 month maternity clothes weren't even an option. On came the one drawstring skirt I owned and off to the first pediatrician visit we went. By the time we got back from our short outing my ankles we so swollen they couln't bend enough for me to walk. My mom basically forced me to call the doctor and his nurse told me to come right in, they were concerned about high blood pressure. Unfortunately for me I was told that this just happens after a C-Section sometimes and some cases are worse than others. Its caused by the IV and how much fluid I was given. She gave me some tips on how to manage it, told me it would peak on day 7 and be mostly gone by day 14. DAY 14?!? Are you serious?!? @#$! $%&!
Here I am on day 11, calves and thighs are returning to normal (I can see my knees again). Feet still looking pretty bad. Here's a couple pictures for you....just in case the portrait I have painted with my words has left any room for doubt.
